The second stage of the roof renovation and restoration process is to concentrate on ensuring that any repairs that are required are expertly carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.

By far and away the biggest request received is "can you get the moss of my roof", the growth of moss is a slow process but as it continually goes through the freeze thaw cycle and laden with excessive moisture retention through to fully dry in the summer months all this plays a significant part in tiles being broken or cracked.

After the clean has been completed a full check of the roof structure is made. If the mortar has been eroded and it requires replacement in the valleys, ridge tiles or verges need re-bedding then this will all be done by the installer. The lead flashing will also be checked for mortar erosion.

Any chimney stacks are  also checked for mortar degradation and the stack is also checked for stability in case any cracking is present.

The customer is kept fully up to date with any recommended repairs and no additional work is carried out until agreed by the homeowner.

Once all the repairs have been carried out and they have been given time to cure correctly then we will proceed to stage three, the application of a coloured roof coating or a clear acrylic sealer.
